About UC Clermont College and UC Blue Ash College
The two regional campuses for the University of Cincinnati are collaboratively offering a new Hospitality Management program launching in the Fall of 2025 (21 Credit Certificate and 60 credit Associate’s Degree) with the Bachelor Degree program launching in the Fall of 2026. The degree programs will teach management principles and hospitality industry knowledge and skills.
UC Clermont College is one of two regional campuses for the University of Cincinnati. UC Clermont College is located in Batavia, Ohio, approximately 25 miles east of the uptown campus, on 108 acres located on top of the highest hill in Clermont County. The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. The College offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 4,500 students. Job Overview
The Business and Law Department at UC Clermont College is seeking an innovative and collaborative full-time Assistant /Associate Professor Educator-track position in Hospitality Management (nine-month contract with the opportunity to work a third semester for additional compensation). Rank and salary will be commensurate with the credentials, background, and experience of the candidate.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of outstanding undergraduate Online and classroom teaching; and the ability to work collaboratively with regional and national hospitality and tourism organizations to create experiential student learning opportunities.
Essential Functions
- Assuming the role of Program Director for the new Associate Degree in Hospitality Management launching in the Fall of 2025 and the Bachelor Degree program launching in the Fall of 2026.
- Initially, teach the following courses: Intro to Hospitality and Tourism Industry; Hotel & Lodging Operations; and Room & Facilities Management.
- Provide excellent instruction of online undergraduate courses in the program.
- Minimum teaching load is eighteen credit hours annually (nine to twelve contact-hours each semester for two semesters), with the option to teach a third semester for additional compensation.
- Participate in and support the accreditation and program review processes.
- Envision, engage and develop study abroad and experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Ability to manage curriculum, engage in course design and to develop new courses as needed.
- Participating in ongoing scholarship/research/professional development.
- Participating in ongoing service to the department, college, university, and community.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications for Assistant Professor (Educator):
- Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Three or more years of excellent postsecondary Online instructional experience in Hospitality and Tourism or related field evidenced by submitted teaching evaluations, student reviews, and peer course evaluations
- Demonstrated interest in creating and supervising students' experiential learning opportunities including developing and maintaining industry contacts for internships and career opportunities that align with the Hospitality Management program.
- Ability to use technology in instruction and experience working with a learning management system such as Canvas or Blackboard.
- Knowledge of the accreditation criteria from the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA)
- Knowledge of SafeServe Association Certifications
Minimum Qualifications / Associate Professor (Educator):
- Ph.D. or earned doctorate in Hospitality Management or related discipline.
- Six or more years of demonstrated excellent postsecondary Online teaching experience in Hospitality and Tourism or related field evidenced by submitted teaching evaluations, student reviews, and peer course evaluations
- Experience in developing or modifying Hospitality & Tourism courses at the college level with a focus on applied and practical skills.
- Demonstrated interest in creating and supervising students' experiential learning opportunities including developing and maintaining industry contacts for internships and career opportunities that align with the Hospitality Management program.
- Ability to use technology in instruction and experience working with a learning management system such as Canvas or Blackboard.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with the accreditation criteria from the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA)
- Knowledge of SafeServe Association Certifications
- Record of publications related to the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.
Additional Qualifications Considered
